About voice lessons Do you want vocal instruction that will free your voice and give you tested tools so you can always access your perfect (chiaroscuro) balance? Do you have an audition coming up and need someone to critique your presentation from start to finish? Do you want a voice teacher who will celebrate your creative, musical child, and give them tools they can use to progress healthily? Carla celebrates people of all ages as unique, and intrinsically valuable. Carla was blessed by God a with a high lyric soprano voice, the ability to sense what is going on physically with other singers when they sing, and the resources to understand how to correct problematic vocal technique. She received her Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from Indiana University and has over ten years of experience teaching private lessons, having maintained studios in Toronto, Canada and Davis, California. Her technique is most strongly informed by the teachings of Jane Randolph (San Francisco Conservatory) and Susan Gundunas (UC Berkeley), as well as Bel Canto Boot Camp (New York). It is a specific and process-oriented technique, and Carla is happy to work with students of any age who would appreciate that kind of approach if it’s necessary. Carla has noticed that the technique is useful for helping broach barriers such as writer’s block, and is also helpful for patients of Parkinson’s Disease to access the tools to maintain a stronger speaking voice.
